  • : a sub-atomic particle discovered early in the 21st century. This particle is theorized to fluctuate above and below the speed of light. In 2017 the United States government assembled a focused bipton-beam generator near Fairbanks, Alaska to experiment methods of interplanetary communication. Two days after the beam was activated, terrorists destroyed the laboratory. Little else is known about this mysterious particle due to patents owned by the United States Government and Biptonic Industries. The word bipton was made common cadence one year after the terrorist attack by the appearance of the mysterious celebrity: Bipton-Boy.

About the Bipton (From President Gasket's "From Physics to You" program, April 10, 2017): In many ways, the bipton particle seems a hybrid between the electron and the tachyon. Like the tachyon, the bipton is capable of traveling at or above the speed of light. Unlike the tachyon (which is eternally locked on the other side of the light barrier) the bipton demonstrates the ability to tunnel through the light barrier (not unlike electrons tunneling through physical barriers) effectively granting the particle the ability to fluctuate between sub-light and greater-than-light speeds. The bipton (under observation) has also demonstrated a form of base consciousness not unlike the common electron. The last known aspect the bipton shares with the electron is when the particle collides with a positron; the two nullify one another producing a violent burst of gamma radiation.
